Havana, Cuba, Apr 12.- Norwegian specialists promote international cooperation projects aimed at increasing the scientific and technical level of plant health professionals in Cuba and Latin America.
Ricardo Holgado, of the Research Center on Agriculture and the Environment of Norway (BIOFOSK), who attends the 7th International Seminar on Plant Health, told ACN that the main topics are related to the use of organic products that do not contaminate the environment.
The expert explained that, for several years now, they have been giving seminars to Cuban students -masters’ degrees and post graduate courses.
He pointed out that Cuba is the starting point for future academic exchanges with the region, “since we previously had an experience with Bolivia,” he added.
Keynote lectures, workshops, working tables, panels of discussion and exchanges of experiences with producers are taking place during the meeting.
The presentation of books related to achievements on plant health in Cuba and Mexico was also scheduled for Friday. (acn)
