The XXXI City Hall opened in Camagüey

Camagüey, Feb 4.- The Alejo Carpentier Universal Art Gallery opened its doors virtually to inaugurate the XXXI edition of the City Hall, in accordance with the current epidemiological conditions and as part of the Culture Week in Camaguey.

A total of 60 works were presented to the admission jury, which opted for 45 pieces, in which the variety of techniques and the generational interaction of the participants stand out, which includes students from art schools, as well as established artists.

The City Hall, the second most important event for visual arts in Camagüey, and the most representative of the manifestation within the celebrations for the foundation of the town, can be enjoyed through the Facebook and Instagram profiles of the AlejoCarpentier Gallery, thanks to audiovisual capsules developed by ProduccionesSerrucho.

Among the invited artists are Martha Jiménez, Ileana Sánchez, Joel Jover, Oscar Rodríguez Lasseria and Carlos Alberto Casanova, who are part of the most representative of the local visual spectrum, with a renowned national and international trajectory.

The jury, made up of Pavel Alejandro Barrio, Ernesto Escobar and other specialists, will be in charge of selecting the winning work of the Show; in the same way, the rest of the institutions of the plastic arts will function as collateral juries.

The sui generis edition has a diverse sample that includes the manifestations of painting, drawing, photography, installations, video performance, ceramics and stained glass.
