Havana, March 6.- The President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-CanelBermúdez, highlighted this Saturday on Twitter that the provinces of Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo will soon enter Phase III of the clinical trials of the vaccine candidate Abdala, but not care for COVID-19 should be neglected.

In the coming days, it is expected that Phase III of the vaccine candidate Abdala will be approved by the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices of Cuba.
With Soverana 02, Cuba this week became the first country in Latin America on the World Health Organization list of 16 COVID-19 vaccines in Phase III of clinical trials.
Soverana 02 is a conjugated product, with the Receptor Binding Domain antigen chemically bound to tetanus toxoid, a pioneering design in the world.
The country already produces industrial quantities of Sovereign 02 for mass immunization of its population and that of other countries.
Iran, Venezuela, Mexico, Suriname and Ghana are some of the nations interested in Cuban vaccines against the pandemic.
Scientists from the largest of the Antilles plan to end up with more than one approved vaccine, which would increase flexibility in mass immunization. (Text and photo: ACN)
