Cuba confirms 914 new COVID-19 confirmed cases, 17 from Camagüey



Havana, Apr 8.- According to the part of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) on COVID-19 in the country, issued at the end of April 7, 17 new cases were confirmed in the province of Camagüey, distributed as follows by municipalities:

Camagüey: 13 (9 contacts of confirmed cases and 4 imported).

Florida: 1 (confirmed case contact).

Minas: 1 (confirmed case contact).

Nuevitas: 1 (imported).

Santa Cruz del Sur: 1 (imported).

Next, the full part of the Ministry of Public Health:

At the close of this Wednesday, April 7, a total of 24,586 patients have been admitted, 3,655 suspects, 15,868 under surveillance and 5,063 confirmed active.

For COVID-19 they studied 20,302 samples, resulting 914 positive samples the country accumulates 3,149,346 samples made and 83,515 positive.

Of the total cases (914): 866 were contacts of confirmed cases; 26 with a source of infection abroad; on day 22 without a specified source of infection. Of the 914 diagnosed cases, 482 were female and 432 male.

41.6% (381) of the 914 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating 43,152, which represents 51.6% of those confirmed to date.

The 914 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years: 116; from 20 to 39 years: 291; from 40 to 59 years: 332; 60 and over: 175 cases. (Ministry of Public Health of Cuba)
