Local farmers greet May Day with productive drive

Camaguey, May 1 - The impulse of agricultural productions as required by the moment that the country is living today, constitutes the main motivation of local workers of that branch in salute to the 1st. of May, day in which star in various exchange activities and recognitions.

Actions to support food production in different areas and cooperatives of the territory, which were joined by representatives of various unions, blood donations, and meetings with retirees, are part of the initiatives with compliance with the hygienic measures and protocols before COVID-19 pandemic.

Marbelis Oms Villavicencio, general secretary of the Union of Agricultural, Forestry and Tobacco Workers in the province, told the ACN that the fundamental challenge of the labor movement in these sectors is to continue producing for, among other social purposes, supplying the centers of isolation and facilities linked to the confrontation with the pandemic.
