Havana, Jun 9.- The United States allocates millions of dollars to finance NGOs that promote destabilization campaigns against Cuba, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez denounced today.
According to the head of the diplomacy of this Antillean nation, on his Twitter account, this endorsement is made without the consent of the American people.
Nearly 250 million dollars have been dedicated by the administrations of that northern power in the last two decades to subversion programs against Cuba, the daily Granma reported recently.
These funds, distributed through organizations such as the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), finance activities whose purpose is the overthrow of the Cuban Revolution.
The Cuba Money Project site, by the American journalist Tracey Eaton, pointed out that only in 2020 agencies such as the USAID dedicated around 2.5 million dollars to subversive activities.
The figure corresponds to the public information that these North American organizations handle on their digital portals, but it is considered partial due to the fact that there are secret programs with no known recipients.
Recently, national television presented evidence on the financing that counterrevolutionaries receive on the island and their links with institutions funded from the United States.
The newscast revealed the connections of the Cuba Program of the Sergio Arboleda University, of Colombia, to promote destabilizing activities against this Antillean nation, carried out with money from the NED. (PL) (Photo: File)
