Diaz- Canel assessed continuity of VIII PCC Congress in Camagüey



Camagüey, Jun 11 - In the evaluation of the continuity process of the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba, chaired by the First Secretary of the Central Committee, Miguel Díaz- Canel, the actions and measures for the execution of the ideas, guidelines and agreements that will mark the work in Camagüey were presented.

The First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party, Ariel Santana Santiesteban, specified among the priorities, the food program; the Ordering Task; volunteer work with popular movement and youth leadership in planting food; supporting government structures up to the community and local development projects.

Other work objectives are associated with the improvement of the socialist state enterprise and the articulation with the productive forms of self-employment, to increase the satisfaction of the population; and the permanent fight against the U.S. blockade, subversion and campaigns that threaten the stability of the country.

In the meeting of the members of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party, authorities and representatives of the political and mass organizations and the government in Camagüey, the actions to achieve the joint work of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution were specified, and the Federation of Cuban Women in community work, especially in the relationship with young people and in the Program for the Advancement of Women; and the importance of political-ideological work, and the role of social communication and the press, in the new digital scenarios was underlined.

In the summary of the meeting, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Miguel Díaz Canel, emphasized the unity and continuity of the ideas of the VIII Congress, and summoned the people of Camagüey to advance in the ideological and economic battle. (Text and photo: Miozotis Fabelo Pinares / Radio Rebelde correspondent in Camagüey)
