Support to Cuba grows in times of Covid-19


Havana, Jul 13 - Support and recognition for Cuba grow today for their solidarity work in the confrontation with Covid-19 in different parts of the world.

Canadian activist Azza Rojbi considered that the island demonstrates how to face the pandemic with international solidarity and love for humanity, despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by

 United States almost six decades ago. 

In a digital interview with Prensa Latina, he said that Washington attacks the brigades of the Cuban medical contingent Henry Reeve because the example of the largest of the Antilles in terms of humanity and internationalism is a threat to the global hegemony of the United States. 

He also mentioned that the organization Friends of Cuba against the blockade of the United States-Vancouver supports a campaign by the Canadian Network of Solidarity with the island aimed at raising funds for these brigades of health professionals from the Caribbean country, present in more than 30 countries. 

On the other hand, from the United States, the also activist Cindy Sheehan told Prensa Latina that Cuba sends doctors to the world and the northern country troops, expressing support for the proposal to nominate the Henry Reeve brigade for the Nobel Peace Prize. 2021. 

Sheenan recalled that the Caribbean nation has been the target of racist imperialism in the  States, which fights with the force of its revolution without renouncing the human rights of citizens and international solidarity. 

The work of Cuban doctors in the world also received praise from the Cuba-Brazil Business Chamber, which sent 17 tons of cleaning and cleaning materials to hospital facilities on the island, donated by friends from various sectors, as confirmed by the Caribbean consulate in Sao Paulo.
