Paris, Sep 18 - The Cuba Coopération France (CubaCoop) association today presented solidarity and collaboration projects that it promotes in favor of the island and its socio-economic development in the face of hostility from the United States and its blockade.
In its weekly publication La lettre électronique, the organization created in 1995 specifies that despite the hard times the world is experiencing due to Covid-19, its activities to support the largest of the Antilles in different areas do not cease.
Among the initiatives are the preparations of the CubaCoop Armor Committee, based in the north-western region of Brittany, to send this month two containers with medical supplies to hospitals in the Cuban capital, Havana, after the two dispatched in March towards the central province of Cienfuegos.
Beds, mattresses, stomatological chairs, consultation tables, wheelchairs, walkers and other products make up the donation.
According to the association, through the Internet and the telephone, the will of its members and Cuban interlocutors allows in the complex prevailing scenario the materialization of projects related to water, renewable energies and environmental sanitation in Havana, Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba, for the benefit of thousands of inhabitants.
In culture, the dispatch of equipment and materials valued at 30 thousand euros for the community artistic program Zona Creativa Trazos Libres, in Cienfuegos, stands out, he adds.
Another initiative has to do with helping children with disabilities and the elderly, as part of the Casa de Victor Hugo project.
The president of CubaCoop, Victor Fernandez, recently told Prensa Latina the organization's commitment to supporting the island in the midst of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and its intensification by the current administration.
