Journalists from Vietnam will visit Cuban radio and television


Havana, September 6.- Members of the Association of Journalists of Vietnam (APV) will visit today the Institute of Information and Social Communication and will hold professional meetings with colleagues from Cuban radio and television, confirmed the UPEC.

The delegation from the Asian country, which arrived in this capital last Monday and will conclude its stay on the island next Saturday, also plans to talk with authorities of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, and tour areas of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.

The day before, after finishing the Vietnam-Cuba Seminar: “Socialist Press in Transformation,” the visitors held a meeting with diplomatic personnel from their embassy in Havana and learned about aspects of the life and work of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, in the Center that bears his name here.

This Thursday, press professionals from Cuba and Vietnam discussed experiences in media management, with the presentation of eight presentations by journalists, managers and academics from both nations at the headquarters of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC).

The seminar highlighted the urgency of transformations in the press models of two socialist countries in a technological media context marked by the hegemony of capitalist communication emporiums on traditional and virtual platforms.

In this sense, the 15 members of the Association of Journalists of Vietnam (APV), led by its vice president Tran Troug Dung, exchanged concepts with their Cuban counterpart on topics such as the network society in the face of a media war and communication as a strategic resource in Cuba.

Likewise, they accessed updated information on the Social Communication Law and the transformations of the press model in the Caribbean country.

In reciprocity, Vietnamese professionals discussed press and international communication in the digital era when implementing Vietnam's bamboo diplomacy strategy.

They also presented elements on the application of artificial intelligence in content development and editorial management, as well as digital transformation in the press, self-financing, business models, generation of advertising revenue: implementation methods, achievements and issues raised in the Vietnam National Television.

The favorable impact of the presentations also transcended, Journalistic process and skills to handle false, distorted and harmful information to protect sovereignty in cyberspace; and the economy of the press and media: Production of advertising and management of economic activities of the Press.
