Havana, Oct 2.- Young people from Cuba today star in a national day of support for Palestine that will last until October 7, the date on which the Israeli war campaign against Gaza began, where more than 41 thousand people died.
The call, launched by the Union of Young Communists of Cuba this Monday, urges not to remain indifferent and to unite in defense of the Palestinian cause, one year after the attack in the coastal enclave.
During the week, various activities will be carried out that reaffirm the solid solidarity of the Cuban people with the Palestinian cause.
Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip have spread to Lebanon, where Tel Aviv's warplanes continue their attacks in all regions, particularly the south, the Bekaa and the southern suburbs of Beirut, in a bloody escalation of unforeseeable consequences.
The Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel, denounced on this day the incursions of Israel’s occupation army into the territory of southern Lebanon, and called to stop the impunity of Zionist aggression in the region.
In his profile on the social network X, the head of state pointed out that while the 79th UN General Assembly is meeting, there is a risk that barbarism will take root in the Middle East.
After a year of genocide on Gaza, Israel is now launching itself against Lebanon. Zionism is becoming more and more like Nazism. Enough of this impunity, the president stressed.
In several international forums, Cuba advocated for the creation of two states, allowing the people of Palestine to exercise their right to self-determination and have an independent and sovereign State within the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. (Text and photo: PL)
