Havana, February 3. - The Salsa Festival, an event created and organized in Cuba by the musician and orchestra director Maykel Blanco, today specifies the details for its start on February 19.
Considered one of the most significant and anticipated cultural events in the largest of the Antilles, the event, scheduled until the 23rd, will take place at Club 500 in Havana.
This space will welcome performers and orchestras such as Adalberto Álvarez y su Son, the Septeto Santiaguero, Eduardo Sandoval, Manolito Simonet y su Trabuco, Papucho y Manana Club, Pedrito Martínez, Issac Delgado, Alexander Abreu y Havana D’ Primera and Paulito FG y su Élite.
The program also includes Monika Mesa, Haila María Mompié, Elito Revé y su Charangón, Juan Guillermo, Brunella Torpoco from Peru, Manolín el Médico de la Salsa, Los Van Van and Maykel Blanco y su Salsa Mayor.
Added to the enjoyment of live music with salseros and timberos, the event includes the work of DJs and, on this occasion, there will be Dj Andrea, from Italy; Javier la Rosa and Alan García, from Mexico; Ivan Dj Salsa and Dj Lao, from Spain, and Javier Dj Miramar and Spanglish Dj, the latter two from Cuba.
As every year, the Salsa Festival will offer the opportunity to learn to dance, appreciate classes of that manifestation and enjoy the talent of some of the most recognized Cuban dancers in the world, among them, Maykel Font, Yanet Fuentes and Jennyselt Galata. (Text and photo: PL)
