Hamas calls for pressure on Israel in the face of genocide and famine

Palestine, August 20 - The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has called for maximum pressure to be exerted on the Israeli occupation to open the crossings and put an end to the crimes of genocide and starvation against more than two million citizens in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, the organization demanded that the Zionist entity be compelled to allow humanitarian aid to enter the enclave, nearly two years after the aggression.

Hamas emphasized that World Humanitarian Day, commemorated by the United Nations and countries around the world on August 19 each year, comes amidst the ongoing war of genocide and famine that the occupation has been intensifying for over 22 months.

During this conflict, more than 61,000 Palestinians lost their lives, the majority of whom were women and children, while approximately 40,000 minors became orphans, it stated.

It also noted that the number of victims of famine and malnutrition had risen to 235 martyrs, including 106 children.

Amid the disregard from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is sought by the International Criminal Court, and his government regarding UN resolutions and global calls to halt their aggression, the Palestinian movement deemed it unacceptable for states, governments, and organizations to restrict themselves to issuing statements of condemnation against the criminality of the occupation.

The Resistance called for efforts to be activated to stop the attacks and the genocide, to prosecute Israeli leaders, especially Netanyahu, to bring them to international justice, and to isolate this entity that threatens international peace and security.

It also held the U.S. administration accountable for the repercussions of blocking aid and for the continuation of a policy of starvation, killings, and humiliation through the “inhumane institution of Gaza” imposed by the Tel Aviv government with Washington's backing. (Text and Photo: Cubasí)
