Quito, Oct 16. -The ''Eloy Alfaro'' Multinational Association of Ecuadorian students and graduates in Cuba demanded on Tuesday, from this South American country, the end of the U.S. economic, financial and commercial blockade against the Caribbean nation.
In a statement issued by the agency, to which Prensa Latina had access to, the group recalled that since January 1st, 1959, under the leadership of Commander Fidel Castro, Cuba started a revolutionary process and faced the capitalism of the northern state, which threatens human existence.
According to the Association, it is unforgivable for Washington that a small country, located in front of the largest empire, should achieve standards in health, education, nutrition and social justice.
The document emphasizes that despite all difficulties and the White House-imposed siege for almost six decades, the Cuban people have never surrendered and continue providing support to other nations, based on their principles of solidarity, altruism and internationalism.
As specified by the Association, the Latin American School of Medicine, founded by the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, is an example of what the Cuban state offers to the world, since thousands of young people, especially poor and forgotten sectors, have studied there.
Taking into account that on October 31st, the United Nations will vote for the 27th consecutive time a draft resolution to end the blockade, Ecuadorian students and graduates highlighted how the world has endorsed the request.(Taken from Prensa Latina)
