Beijing, Mar 16 - China denounced Friday that the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States against Cuba for more than half a century and the coercive measures against Venezuela constitute a flagrant and systematic violation of human rights.
A report by the Information Office of the Council of State (Cabinet) stated that these punitive policies violate the guarantees of the population of both Latin American countries, since they hinder their full socio-economic development and access to basic needs products.
China is firmly opposed to the White House's measures against Havana and Caracas.
The blockade against Cuba appears to be the most unjust, severe and prolonged system of unilateral sanctions applied against any country and at the same time it is described as the main obstacle to its economic relations with the rest of the world.
Meanwhile, in recent years, Washington has toughened its actions to punish Venezuela in an attempt to destabilize the government of President Nicolas Maduro, promote an administration that responds to its interests and appropriate the natural resources of that nation.
On the other hand, the Chinese cabinet's report deplored that the United States' intervention for decades worsened problems in Latin America and as a result increased migrants, who face inhumane treatment and the separation of many families on U.S. soil.
He blamed Washington for many humanitarian disasters around the world, participating in conflicts in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen, obstructing International Criminal Court investigations of war crimes and abandoning important global bodies. (PL)
