San Salvador, June 24.- A countdown from "10, nine, eight... zero: welcome to El Salvador" gave way on Friday night to the colorful ceremony of the official opening of the XXIV Central American Games and the Caribbean in this capital.

And it is that, apparently, everyone wants that country to resonate as part of the gratitude for hosting this event, which will have protagonists of 35 of the 37 members of Centro Caribe Sports.

The public also chanted some names of the nations as they paraded along the track of the venue, first the flag bearers of the delegations and later a part of them.

Mexico, winner of the previous event in Barranquilla-2018, opened the tour, which the hosts closed, after everyone's walk, with Cuba, Colombia and the Dominican Republic standing out for their number.

As usual in this type of ceremonies, there was a show of the arts, in which music and dance were combined, and a video showed the benefits and aspects to highlight of the so-called Thumb of America.

Land of contrasts, respect for its cultural values ??and people who refuse to give up remained as messages to remember by those present at "El Mágico" González, especially those who do not live here.

Later, the Salvadoran president, Nayib Bukele, appealed to the classic words to declare "the Games inaugurated" after highlighting the efforts made and achievements of his Government.

Also, the head of Centro Caribe Sports, Luis Mejías, once again praised the work of El Salvador, "the land of the eternal smile", called on the athletes to compete fairly and stressed that "it is time to transcend."
