Camagüey, January 17.- One of the emblematic figures of Cuban chess today, Grandmaster Carlos Daniel Albornoz, received today in this city his Collage Degree with honors as a Bachelor of Physical Culture from the University of Camagüey (UC) Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz.
In statements to the local press, the athlete expressed his joy for such recognition, while thanking the opportunity of the match courses to achieve this success in his professional life by combining studies with his participation in international tournaments.
He highlighted to the Cuban News Agency that among his expectations will always be the fact of putting Cuba's name at the top, for which he is preparing to participate in the National Chess Championship, next month, and the Olympic Games, next starting next July.
He also thanked Santiago Lajes Choy, rector of the UC, for the opportunity to study in his homeland, although he has also done so in other houses of higher education in the country.
To the pride of the sports movement, the chess player also received a special recognition among those selected as the best graduates, in his category, as highlighted on the Facebook page of the management of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation in this district.
The Plaza de la Revolución Mayor General Ignacio Agramonte Loynaz, which links the center with the east of Cuba, witnessed a new UC graduation, and among the graduates Albornoz stood out as one of the youngest players in the history of Cuba to take the crown in the National Championship.
