Havana, Dec 12. - Army General Raúl Castro Ruz and Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party and President of the Republic, attended the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the School Solidarity with Panama, dedicated to the care of children with physical-motor disabilities.
As reported by the Presidency on its website, with the presence of Party and Government authorities, and relatives of the boys who are trained there as good men and women, the humanist vocation of the Revolution and its commitment to the defence of all rights for all people were recalled.
The art of students, teachers and the children's company La Colmenita led the evening of the center that currently hosts 206 students.

From the various artistic manifestations, peace was advocated, in support of the cause of the Palestinian people; there was talk of solidarity and protected children, despite the limitations and the blockade; as well as the Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro, the main architect of this center, was evoked.
The gala served as a space to honor the work of María Esther La O Ochoa, Teté, who led the school for more than 30 years, recognition that came from the leader of the Cuban Revolution, who read, the verses: "Thank you for so much passion/ Delivery, heroism, faith/The world is standing/Shere with a blessed voice/. The planet needs/multiplying to Tete."
We have laughed, we have wept, we have been happy. This has been my home; and I keep my foot in the stirrup, as you, General, told Raul.
At the event, Nairis Reyes Cleger, the centre's new director, confirmed her commitment to building a brighter future for children, more inclusive and hopeful.
As part of the day, the Rafael María de Mendive distinction was given to two workers who for 20 and 25 years have dedicated themselves to the beautiful task of teaching, as well as honored the school with the 85th anniversary stamp of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba.
Other organizations such as Pioneers José Martí, the Union of Young Communists, the Ministry of Education and the Ibero-American Organization of the United States for Education, Science and Culture were distinguished from the educational center.
The meeting served to remember the words of the Army General when he said years ago: "For schools like these we are willing to give everything. I believe it is one of the most beautiful and fairest works of the Revolution." (Text and photo: ACN)
