Ramallah, Jan 11.- The Civil Defense Service in the Gaza Strip announced today that several fire and rescue vehicles stopped working in the territory due to lack of repair as a result of the Israeli aggression.
In a statement, the relief agency accused the Army of destroying most of the equipment, devices and repair parts that were available on the local market.
The Armed Forces of that country also destroyed our reserves during the last 15 months, it stressed.
Faced with this situation, it called on the international community to collaborate to avoid the total paralysis of such vehicles, in the midst of the humanitarian crisis resulting from the conflict.
It recalled that more than half of them are already stopped due to lack of fuel, due to the blockade imposed by Israel against the coastal enclave since October 2023.
Last December, the entity denounced that 90 of its workers died in Israeli attacks since the beginning of the new cycle of violence in the region.
The Civil Defense has repeatedly warned that it is close to paralyzing all its services in the territory as a result of the aggression and blockade of the neighboring country, a situation that will affect more than two million Palestinians.
Since the beginning of the war campaign, 15 months ago, the Army has deliberately attacked our facilities and vehicles, it recently stated.
We are going through the most difficult stage since our creation in 1994, due to the erosion of human personnel and the destruction of equipment, it warned and blamed Israel and the United States, its main ally, for the repercussions of the aggression.
The director of Supplies and Equipment of the organization, Muhammad Al-Mughair, explained that the institution is suffering from a suffocating crisis and stressed that the relief teams provide minimal services in the southern region. (Text and photo: PL)
