Cuba denounces Israel's obstacles to humanitarian aid to Palestine

Cuba, Palestine, solidarity

Havana, Feb 1.-The Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez, today denounced Israel's decision to ban the activities of the The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in its territory.

Through his profile on the social network X, the highest representative of Cuban diplomacy affirmed that the measure is part of the genocide that this Zionist state is perpetrating against the Palestinian people, with the complicity of the United States.

The Israeli Parliament approved two laws last October that order the exit of this agency from the territory and from East Jerusalem; and this Wednesday, the Israeli ambassador to the UN, Danny Danonn, gave the Agency 48 hours to evacuate its centers in Jerusalem, in compliance with said law.

The day before, the head of UNRWA, Philippe Lazzarini, warned that the implementation of the law will increase instability and deepen desperation in occupied Palestine, a territory at a critical moment.

Lazzarini explained that the elimination of basic services will equally affect Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, but in the Gaza Strip, the absence of an agency to assist in reconstruction will be added.

He noted that the Palestinian Authority has made it clear that it does not have the financial resources or the capacity to compensate for the loss of UNRWA services. (Text and Photo: PL)
