Paramaribo, Feb. 3. - Venezuela and Brazil today reaffirmed here the ties of friendship and mutual respect for the sovereignty of their peoples.
The senior diplomats met in the Surinamese capital in the context of the XV Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization.
This was announced by the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Yván Gil, on Telegram after a meeting with his counterpart from the South American giant, Mauro Vieira.
“We have had the pleasure of holding a cordial meeting with the Foreign Minister of Brazil, Mauro Vieira,” he said.
Gil stressed that this meeting “has allowed us to reaffirm our ties of friendship and mutual respect for the sovereignty of our peoples.”
The Venezuelan Foreign Minister pointed out in another message that he is participating in this meeting on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro.
He valued that this meeting is fundamental to address regional cooperation in favor of the conservation and sustainable development of the Amazon, a vital resource for humanity.
“On this occasion, Venezuela presents the sixth T of the Homeland Plan: ecological transformation,” he pointed out.
She noted that this principle “drives us to reorganize capitalist production and consumption, with the aim of effectively confronting the climate crisis that affects us all.” (Text and Photos: PL)
