Havana, Feb 4th. - The Cuban Football Association (AFC) held general elections in the context of its 14th Congress. The electoral commission proposed full ratification of the current executive, which was voted by acclamation of the provincial federation presidents.
The election was conducted with the assistance of all members entitled to vote. The re-elected president, Oliet Rodríguez Méndez, reaffirmed his commitment to the office he holds and thanked those who ratified him for their trust in continuing to lead the governing body of football in Cuba.
"I take responsibility in this new period where we will follow the lines of working tirelessly to bring our football to higher levels," said Rodríguez.
"We know the complexity of the challenges that await us and this requires working together as before to achieve success," he concluded.
The vice presidents Luis Mariano Veitía and Ciro Escalona Oramas also recalled their commitment to work on all fronts with absolute responsibility, as did the secretary general Miguel Ángel Díaz. (Text and Photo: Cubadebate)
