Student front in Guatemala rejects US blockade against Cuba

Guatemala City, September 23. - The Robin García Revolutionary Student Front (FERG, for its acronym in Spanish) expressed in Guatemala its profound and strong rejection of the genocidal policy of the United States blockade against Cuba.

The organization, made up of unwavering militants fighting against all forms of oppression, considered that this measure by the northern country reached its most despicable, savage, and inhuman point with the unilateral inclusion of the Caribbean nation on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

They recalled that the failed strategy of the U.S. government is to terrorize Cuban society in very difficult times, such as the current ones caused by the same blockade and sanctions imposed.

The movement noted in a statement sent to this agency that these sanctions are condemned almost unanimously year after year by the United Nations.

The U.S. aims to promote a violent insurrection, as it is incapable of accepting the existence and success of a socialist project only 90 miles from its borders, they described.

It acknowledged that condemnation alone is not enough, no matter how forceful, and therefore offered all active efforts to condemn these measures of US imperialism.

He emphasized, especially in defense and for the construction of the Cuban Revolution, and invited organizations and sectors of Guatemalan society to support the condemnation and the Cuban people to the extent that our possibilities allow.

Ferg began by emphasizing the dignity of the Cuban people, their integrity, and consistency in this struggle that has lasted 66 years against US imperialism.

Something that it not only highlights, it said, but also admires and studies, as it is a lesson for the battle that this people has also been waging against the same enemy for more than 70 years.

It also recalled with deep gratitude the support Cuba provided to its comrades, assisting them with educational training, political asylum, medical assistance, friendly warmth, and so many other ways that it is difficult even to list.

It also mentioned with profound fraternal love the struggle waged together since the temporary stay in Mexico of Fidel and Raúl Castro, Che Guevara, and company.

It referred to the friendship that Julio Roberto Cáceres, "El Patojo," established with the revolutionaries who set sail on the Granma to merge with history in 1956.

This struggle, side by side, did not stop there, but rather nourished, through a fruitful exchange, the militancy of a vast number of comrades, it noted.

Thus, it emphasized, the Guatemalan and Cuban revolutions, from that moment to the present day, make Cuba and Guatemala one people. (PL) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
