Havana, 20 Jan. - Provincial authorities today reported the names of those killed in the accident on the road to Cayo Coco, in the province of Ciego de Ávila.
The following are the names and municipalities of origin of the fatalities:
Yuniester Oliva Artiles (chafer)
Yoelvis Reino Vey (chafer)
Ezequiel Díaz Matos, from Baraguá
Yaensy Count Vega, Santana, Ciro Redondo
Javier Hernández Zamora, from Santana, Ciro Redondo
Daniel Trujillo Rodríguez, from Morón
So far it has been known that 59 injured were treated in the hospital institutions of the municipalities of Morón and Ciego de Ávila with neurosurgical conditions, bone fractures in upper limbs and lower limbs, and patients with abdominal trauma with splenic rupture.
At the time of writing, Captain Alexander Sánchez González, head of Operational Regulation of Ciego de Ávila, explained that the accident occurred after the collision of a Transmeter bus and a Yutong brand, which due to the intense fog and the low visibility one of the drivers invaded the opposite path causing the crash.
