Camagüey, September 16. - The Carlos J. Finlay University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey stands out for the work of its researchers, professors, and students.
The search for healthcare solutions, combined with the collaborative work of innovators, the Technical Youth Brigades (BTJ, for its acronym in Spanish), and Scientific Societies, make this achievement possible in the 45th anniversary of the university's founding.
During this new academic term, the Camagüey Medical University's priorities include continuing to develop its research lines, preparing its faculty in various categories, and preparing its students.
Dr. Ana Cristina Acosta, Director of Science, Innovation, and Technology at the Camagüey Medical University, highlighted the presence of more than 150 research projects led by students from the institution's three faculties: Medical Sciences, Dentistry, and Health Technology, with their various programs, both short and long cycle, from Technical Middle Education and higher education, which allows students to engage in practical activities related to research alongside their study programs.
The specialist highlights that support is provided through a group of actions from postgraduate and undergraduate levels to aid solutions through science, and she added that they also comply with government programs, in addition to projects responding to the Life Task.
With an enrollment of more than four thousand students, the University of Medical Sciences of Camagüey carried out more than two hundred research projects in 2024, in the areas of Primary Health Care, the Maternal and Child Program, and the rest dedicated to clinical trials, in various health institutions.
