Caracas, Jan 2.- The ALBA-TCP joined with profound revolutionary emotion and historical conviction in commemorating the 67th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution on January 1, 1959.
The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) stated in a communiqué that this date "opened an irreversible horizon of dignity, sovereignty, and social justice for Cuba and for all of Our America."
It affirmed that this triumph was the work of the Centenary Generation, a conscious youth that, inspired by the ideals of José Martí, took up the struggle as a historical duty against colonial domination and imperial oppression.
The Latin American and Caribbean bloc recalled that, from the Sierra Maestra, under the immortal leadership of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, "that generation ignited the sacred emancipatory fire that transcended Cuba's borders and became an ethical and political reference for the popular struggles of the continent."
It emphasized that 67 years later, the Cuban Revolution remains relevant as an example of coherence, resistance, and loyalty to the principles of social justice, even in the face of the criminal blockade, unilateral coercive measures, and disinformation campaigns.
"On the path toward the Centenary of the birth of Commander Fidel, his historical and moral legacy continues to guide the peoples who struggle for a just, multipolar international order that respects self-determination," it stated.
The Bolivarian Alliance asserted that the peoples of ALBA-TCP recognize in the Cuban Revolution a common root of their struggles, where Bolívar, Martí, Sandino, and Chávez converge, and reaffirmed "their unwavering commitment to solidarity with the brotherly people and government of Cuba."
