Heritage Zone Development to be debated in Camagüey


Camagüey, Jan 29. - The historic urban landscape as a potential for the comprehensive development of heritage zones will drive the debate during the 17th edition of the Symposium on Challenges in City Management and Governance, which will take place in Camagüey on February 1 and 2.

This forum, included in the program of activities for Camagüey's Culture Week, will feature conferences and panels, as well as the presentation of papers and research works aimed at establishing modes of action that favor the protection, conservation, and safeguarding of heritage, stated MaríaCarmenatesBringas, Director of the Master Plan at the Office of the City Historian of Camagüey.

She said that during both days, participants will be able to debate new tools for comprehensive development, the use of information and communication technologies in heritage appreciation, cultural and economic development, as well as adaptation to climate change with nature-based solutions.

On this occasion, she noted that the event will be dedicated to Lourdes Gómez Consuegra and Gina Rey Rodríguez, both professionals with distinguished careers in the study of cities, heritage conservation, and academic training.
