Curious, Case, Clarence, Ginni Thomas

The curious case of Clarence and Ginni Thomas

Ginni Thomas is entitled to her opinions, even if treasonous. Using her status as the wife of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas to conspire insurrection with Trump's Chief of Staff Mark Meadows should at least require the justice to recuse himself from all Jan. 6 decisions. But, the real issue here is Clarence Thomas’ January vote to keep Trump’s National Archives documents secret. Was he trying to prevent any more of Ginni’s correspondence from becoming public? Even the possibility requires Thomas’ resignation.

Justice Thomas must resign

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas must resign. His own wife tried to force Trump’s chief of staff to overturn the election. A man whose job is dedicated to upholding the U.S. Constitution cannot be that close to a Jan. 6 insurrectionist. He must show some honor and resign immediately.

Ethics office needed for High Court

All employees of the Executive Branch of our government are held to the highest code of conduct by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics. Am I to understand the members of the U.S. Supreme Court are above ethical scrutiny and have never been held to even an implicit code of ethics? It seems preposterous that this would even be a topic of discussion but Justice Clarence Thomas’ recent actions and Ginni Thomas’ recently publicized emails to Mark Meadows have changed all that.

Clarence Thomas has demonstrated the necessity of for a U.S. Office of SCOTUS Ethics. Thomas was the lone dissenting vote regarding Trump’s Jan. 6 plea to hide records. Was this a nod to Ginni, a nod to Trump or perhaps a nod to placate both? At least Justices Gorsuch and Barrett had the wisdom to vote impartially, which was a pleasant surprise. Thomas has single-handedly altered the view we have all held that the court is above reproach. He should resign immediately. Not only did Justice Thomas demonstrate his lack of ethics by not recusing himself when discussing the Jan. 6 request but he has repeatedly demonstrated his political bias. I began this letter thinking a U.S. Office of SCOTUS Ethics was a tongue in cheek idea but maybe it isn’t. Text and Photo: news.yahoo.com)
