Camagüey, Mar 4.- From the useful to the beautiful comes the personal exhibition Dialogue from the tinajón, by the renowned ceramicist Nazario Salazar Martínez, a journey that looks to the past and recalls the beginnings of the movement of the new ceramics in Camagüey.

Under the auspices of the Camagüey branch of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets and the accompaniment of members of the Cuban Association of Artisan Artists in the province, as well as members of the local José Martí Cultural Society, the exhibition was the pretext to establish a dialogue analysis of craft creation in the territory of Camagüey.

The event became an exchange in which poetry and visual arts came together in a sort of momentary tour of the pages of ceramics in the city, and to build initiatives that allow the eternalization of knowledge and styles to develop this art in the main city.

"Dialogue from the Tinajón is a remembrance of an article that appeared in the magazine Revolución y Cultura in 1976, which talks about what had been achieved in relation to native Camagüeyan ceramics," said Salazar Martínez.

He also considered that “the exhibition is a tangible testimony of the pieces that were created during the movement of the new ceramics and that constitute heritage of the town.

Given the need to preserve the identity styles of the pottery from Camagüey, those present considered that teaching sites should be implemented for those young people interested in dedicating themselves to this art. (Text and photos: Idaylén Rodríguez Rodríguez/Radio Cadena Agramonte)
