
Havana, Oct 20.- The Pan American Confederation of Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial Engineering (Copimera in Spanish) announced in this capital its interest in incorporating Cuban colleagues in the sector to its digital platform.
Knowledge and promotion of their experiences is extremely useful, said Jorge Nei Brito, president of that organization.
The also professor at the Federal University of Sao Joao del-Rei, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, referred to the importance of the offer to link on his website the members of the Society of Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial Engineering, one of the groups of the Union of Architects and Construction Engineers of Cuba, with more than 13 thousand members.
He considered the objective of making greater use of national experts and their high professional level in Group 3 of Copimera, to which they belong along with those from Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Trinidad and Tobago.
Nei Brito gave one of the first conferences at the V International Conference on Mechanical, Electrical and Industrial Engineering, inaugurated at the Tryp Habana Libre Hotel and which will be held until Saturday at various venues in Havana.
Agustín Lage Dávila, advisor to the presidency of the Business Group of the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industries (BioCubaFarma), also spoke about the industry 4.0 program, based on automation and digitalization, and the redesign of the economy.
The same was done by engineer Reyniero Campos Pompa, director of the project related to neomobility in the capital, in charge of the General Directorate of Transportation of Havana and with the financial support of the United Nations Development Program.
The most diverse topics covered the deliberations after the opening of the meeting, including improvements to the synchronous switch, analytical studies of ferro resonances in distribution circuits, tools for the graphic coordination of protections in industrial electrical systems, adjustments of thermal protections and solutions early maintenance of the equipment operating cycle.
An essential objective of the event lies in promoting the exchange of experiences in the search for practical actions that contribute to the development of the national industry, commented the master's degree in Science Rosa Cecilia Calzado Brossard, president of its organizing committee.
