Havana, Oct 25.- The international event Nuevas Miradas, which will take place from December 8 to 13 in the Cuban capital, today provides new producers and filmmakers with the springboard to promote audiovisual projects, the organizers stated.
Convened by the International School of Film and Television of San Antonio de Los Baños (Eictv), this 17th edition includes days of individual advice and master classes with prestigious professors from the institution and international guests.
Nuevas Miradas 2023 will culminate with a presentation of all the projects in front of producers, funds and specialists from the film and audiovisual industry, the coordinator of the space, Yamila Marrero, told Prensa Latina.
After the closing of the admission call on October 6, the rigorous selection process of the participating works began, which must be viable, with artistic and cinematographic values ??and at the same time led by new producers interested in generating their first professional networks.
The event will also promote exchanges with specialists and between Cuban and foreign producers, sales agents, financing funds and provide incentives for the positioning of audiovisual works in the appropriate market, according to their history, genre and format.
Likewise, a large delegation of French professionals will be received who will participate thanks to the support of the FSPI France-Cuba.
Considered as an important platform for exchange, training, and development of feature films promoted from Cuba, in the 16 previous editions of the meeting, nearly 360 projects from all over the world participated and around 600 professionals from the international audiovisual industry collaborated.
As a result of Nuevas Miradas, more than forty feature films were released. (Text and photo: PL)
