Brand New image of the tourist destination Jardines del Rey

Ciego de Ávila, October 29.- Nearing its 30th anniversary and the beginning of the winter season, the tourist destination Jardines del Rey, located in the north of the province of Ciego de Ávila, offers a renewed image to visitors, as a result of successive maintenance actions.

The second most important sun and beach destination in Cuba, also selected as the headquarters of the XLII International Tourism Fair FitCuba 2024, scheduled to be held next May, exhibits changes in elements located on the roads, such as promotional billboards, informative-orientative signs, and sculptures.

Information and images shared on the social network Facebook by Luis Alberto Pérez Olivarez, director of the Provincial Community Services Company, reveal new identification signs in the Coco, Guillermo and Paredón Grande keys, in addition to the reanimation of the wooden signs that guide visitors to arrive at hotel, non-hotel and tourism support facilities.

The manager recognized the effort and quality of the work carried out by workers from Comunales and the Cultural Assets Fund – the latter including artists – who restored those distinctive elements of the Jardines del Rey roads.

Recently, they returned the splendor to the monumental crown that stands on the causeway that leads from Turiguanó Island to Cayo Coco, after carrying out painting work and restoring lighting through the use of photovoltaic solar energy, he noted.

Likewise, the emblematic sculptures of Ernest Hemingway that are displayed at the entrance to Cayo Guillermo were renovated.

Along with these works, the local representations of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) and the Gaviota Tourism Group carry out maintenance actions to ensure beauty, comfort and quality of services in hotel and non-hotel facilities.

Directors of the Provincial Delegation of the Mintur and the Office of the Government Representative in the North Keys notified on the social network Facebook of the carrying out of promotional activities, including visits by groups of travelers from markets such as Canada, who completed an extensive program of activities intended to marketing.

At the threshold of another peak tourist season, with a start date in the month of November, Jardines del Rey, in particular Cayo Paredón Grande, held the Fifth Gaviota Destinations Tourist Exchange, meanwhile, the traditional International Sport Fishing Tournament is resumed Big Game Trolling, which is in session these days in Cayo Guillermo.

In statements to the specialized magazine Excelencias Cuba, from Mintur, Iyolexis Correa Lorenzo, delegate of that institution in Ciego de Ávila, stated that the 30th anniversary of Jardines del Rey will become an opportunity for tourism development in that sun and beach destination, with more than 24 thousand rooms and growth opportunities.

He specified that work is being done to ensure non-hotel offers as a complement to the sun and beach modality, fundamentally, in the expansion and strengthening of nautical activities as a leading product.

He pointed out that nature tourism is also promoted, including bird watching, to show the natural values ??of the northern keys and other sites in the province.

The promotion of national culture and the strengthening of ties with the cities of Morón and Ciego de Ávila constitute other purposes of the sector, immersed in a process of improvement and with workers who reinforce their commitment to the quality of services, Correa explained.
