Israel accused of violating United Nations resolution on humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza

Caracas, Oct 29.- The Governments of Iran, Qatar and Egypt denounced this Saturday that, despite the resolution on a humanitarian ceasefire adopted the day before at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), Israel increased its criminal attacks against the Gaza Strip and expanded the genocide it commits against the Palestinian people.

Iranian President Seyed Ebrahim Raisi conveyed to the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, that Palestine needs today more than ever "the effective support of the world and especially the unity of Islamic countries to stop the continuation of the war machine, of the Zionist regime".

During a telephone conversation, Raisi told Al Thani that a unified, determined and clear position is needed from Islamic countries in support of the oppressed people of Palestine and denounced that the support of the US and Western nations gives Israel the green light to commit more crimes in Gaza.

Al Thani supported the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and self-defense and stressed that, with unity, the countries of the Middle East and Islamic countries can stop the Israeli war machine.

Earlier, the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Naser Kanani, denounced through social network X that the Zionist entity perpetrates a real genocide in the Gaza Strip for the support of the United States (USA) and Western governments.

Kanani questioned that despite the rejection around the world and the resolution approved at the UNGA, this Saturday Tel Aviv increased its attacks and the killing of defenseless civilians.

He stressed that these are "continuous attacks against all humanity, moral and human values, global peace and security, humanitarian rights and international laws and regulations."

In addition, he assured that Israel deliberately shut down communications to cover up its crimes and the possible failure of its ground operations in Gaza.

For its part, Egypt's Foreign Ministry accused Israel this Saturday of violating the resolution approved at the UNGA, "which calls for an immediate ceasefire and the implementation of a humanitarian truce," it said in a statement.

He also warned of "the grave risks and unprecedented humanitarian and security repercussions that will result from the large-scale ground attack on the Gaza Strip."

In addition to violating international law, he noted that Israel's escalation will lead to an increase in civilian casualties.

On Friday, the General Assembly approved the aforementioned resolution, presented by Jordan on behalf of all Islamic countries, with 120 votes in favor, 14 against and 45 abstentions. (Telesur) (Photo: WAFA)
