International forum of young entrepreneurs sets goals for the economic development of Cuba


Havana, Nov 10.- The Havana International Fair (FIHAV) included for the first time in its history, the International Forum of Young Entrepreneurs, a space for youth to continue contributing to the economic development of Cuba and exchange with representatives of various nations.

Cuban leaders of state entities and forms of non-state management such as Mipymes, linked to the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries, to the production of software and platforms for management in multiple services, presented their experiences in panels dedicated to the protagonism of youth in digital transformation processes and innovation.

About 100 young people from sectors such as science, technology, innovation, computing, agriculture and communications participated in the event, along with representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, as well as Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico and Venezuela .

The forum was a day of fruitful debate on experiences, good practices, knowledge achieved, shared challenges and goals for growth in the future.

Ana Teresita González, First Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment; Antonio Luis Carricarte, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Matías Fernández, president of the Ibero-American Federation of Young Entrepreneurs, also participated in the meeting, held at the Expocuba theater.

Fernández was in charge of the panel "Ethics and social responsibility", in which he insisted on the importance of having human beings, especially talent, at the center of attention in the current Industrial Revolution.

On the fourth day of the 39th edition of FIHAV 2023, activities to promote goods and services by Cuban and foreign companies, signing new agreements or concluding others continued; France, Germany and other countries had their national days, and a forum on the European Union and its relationship with Cuba was held.
