Havana, March 14.- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, highlighted the prominence of the island in the international arena and the constant displays of support and solidarity that it receives worldwide.

Appearing this Thursday on the Round Table television program about the projections of Cuban foreign policy and its main results, the chancellor highlighted the presidency during the previous year of the Group of 77 and China, with the celebration of an austere but pertinent summit of the multilateral organization in Havana.

He also highlighted the country's close relationship with regional organizations such as the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - People's Trade Treaty and the Caribbean Community.

In addition to the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace, an initiative signed in Havana.

He also thanked the international denunciation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States more than six decades ago, as well as the unjust inclusion of the island on the list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism.

He denounced that historically Washington's relationship with Cuba has been imperialist, hegemonist and interventionist seeking the reinstallation of a neocolonialist government.

The blockade, he said, is applied with unprecedented rigor and its first manifestation was during the Covid-19 pandemic, when the White House hindered the entry of oxygen from the United States and third countries.

He made reference to the continuity of the strangulation policy in both Democratic and Republican administrations.

Rodríguez classified the current international situation as difficult and changing, which causes threats to peace and security.

He also highlighted growing global polarization and inequality, especially due to US imperialism, as well as the proliferation of conflicts, economic instability and inflation.

This can only be remedied with the vindication of the struggles of the peoples of the south, and cooperation based on respect between the peoples of the south and north, stressed the head of the island's diplomacy. (Text: ACN)(Photo: Screenshot)
