Beirut, April 4.- More than 310 deaths and around 100,000 displaced people from southern villages today reflect the damage caused by persistent Israel’s aggression against Lebanon.

At the beginning of a government session, interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati emphasized that the bombing of Tel Aviv also caused nearly a thousand injuries and the biggest disaster occurred in the country's agricultural sector.

In this sense, the head of the Lebanese cabinet indicated that 800 hectares were completely damaged, 340 thousand heads of livestock were killed and around 75 percent of farmers lost their final source of income.

Commenting on the effects on the education sector, Mikati reported that at least 75 schools are permanently closed, without mentioning the issue of rebuilding what was destroyed and the priority of seeking sources of financing.

At this point, he reaffirmed the Lebanese State's adherence to true peace and called on the international community to denounce the Zionist attacks against the nation.

On this issue, the top cabinet figure demanded that the United Nations dissuade the Tel Aviv entity from ending its constant aggression and restoring peace in the region.

Through the Council of Ministers, Mikati stressed that Lebanon has friends in all countries of the world who are working honestly to pressure the Israeli enemy to stop its crimes against the national territory.

In this line of message, he valued as positive the contacts and visits made by international authorities, in the effort to contribute to finding solutions to the presidential crisis.

In this regard, he reiterated that electing a president of the Republic is everyone's demand and called for dialogue to save the country, in light of more than a year of power vacuum and the dangers of prolonging the crisis. (Text and photo: PL)
