Such courage and such decision in the midst of shrapnel, validated and signed with blood the socialist character of the Cuban Revolution, declared hours before the landing as the radicalization of an unstoppable mass process, as it was capable of confronting and defeating the forces that opposed it.
In Girón, the rulers and military leaders of the time in the United States, with their Central Intelligence Agency in the middle, underestimated the courage and determination of the Cubans who turned that trial by fire into the first great military defeat of imperialism in Latin America.
It is precisely that legacy that marks the path to, in the face of Washington's attacks and foolishness, involve the vast majority of a people in the battle and action, which is currently facing one of the harshest attacks against development. and stability.
For Cuba, this victory clothed the spirit of popular struggle with hard moral steel, strengthened anti-imperialist consciousness and consolidated socialism.

The battles to preserve independence do not cease, and along with the amount of pain and sacrifice they have imposed, there stands the unity, resistance and heroism of those who are determined to defend the conquests achieved, as in Girón, with blood and fire, much more like Díaz-Canel said when closing the XII Congress of the Union of Young Communists, at a time when the new generations found their Moncada and assault it every day.
Today, the war scenario not declared by the United States against the largest of the Antilles is manifested in the economic, political and cultural spheres, although it is not a traditional battlefield with shrapnel, the consequences are equally serious, including the loss of lives. due to the blockade, which affects, among other aspects, the supply of medicines and raw materials.
