Cuban film maintains high preference score


Havana, April 24.- With the screening of the film The Wild Woman in the theater of the Fresa y Chocolate Cultural Center, the film continues with a high score in terms of preference, both from critics and the public.

After enjoying the feature film, director Alan González's debut feature, and as part of its national premiere, the viewing generated debates that led to a press conference with some of the filmmaking team.

Among the guests were its director and the leading actress Lola Amores, who shared details and answered questions related to the creative process amid the adverse circumstances of the pandemic, the construction of the characters, and the stories of marginality and violence present in the construction site.

Its director reaffirmed that even, in the violent context in which the characters develop, The Wild Woman aims, above all, to evoke the love and humanization of a society inclined to the marginalization of its members.

Among the great satisfactions left in the film's successful journey through different latitudes is, according to its director, the realization that it can be understood, assimilated and thought about from other places.

Telling a film that represents us, also narrating your pains and concerns about the society in which you live, and at the same time, the story can connect with people from other countries, is beautiful, González admitted, and at the same time it is a challenge for everyone. filmmaker, he added.

The film was crowned in December 2023 with several awards during the 44th edition of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema in Havana, including the Special Jury Choral Award.

There were several cinematographic events at which this production was presented and in cities as geographically and culturally distant as Rotterdam, Malaga and Miami, witnesses of its graceful passage through their theaters.

Winner, in addition to several recognitions, including awards for its main actress Lola Amores.
