Cuba participates in international event on civil aviation


 

Havana, April 30.- Eduardo Rodríguez Dávila, Minister of Transportation of Cuba, participates today in the III World Symposium to Support the Implementation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which meets in the Dominican Republic until next 2 of May.

For Cuba's economy, in which tourism, and therefore aviation, have an important weight, these meetings are favorable moments to make alliances and explore possibilities for other airlines to fly to the country, among other aspects of interest, he highlighted. After his official visit to Iran, the minister makes a stopover in the Dominican Republic to attend the symposium, at the invitation of the Secretary General of the ICAO, Juan Carlos Salazar.

In his communication, the owner highlighted that in this edition, a ministerial round table will be held at the event that will promote the exchange of best practices and ways to achieve the balance between the socioeconomic benefits of air transport, with the aim of achieving a carbon neutrality.

The Third ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium will delve into strategies and practices aimed at increasing aviation capacity for safe skies and a sustainable future, he said.

He added that attention will focus on priority areas such as: advanced air mobility, cybersecurity, preparation to face crises, training in aviation, air transport and tourism, the development of airports and airport infrastructure.
