Havana, May 15.- The foreign ministers of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, and Venezuela, Yván Gil, today expressed the will of their countries to strengthen their ties in all areas, and expressed their solidarity in the face of unjust unilateral punitive measures.
Today is one more step in this direction, we have many challenges ahead, especially to continue building this alliance with concrete results economically, productively, so that our people enjoy more and more security and we can walk that path of victory, Gil stated at the beginning of the official conversations with his Cuban counterpart.
At the opening of the bilateral round, which takes place in the capital's El Laguito center, Gil highlighted that Cuba and Venezuela are an example of the construction of the new and added that this visit and negotiations precisely aim to strengthen the route of victory that we are going to have, despite all the attacks.
We are two peoples attacked, besieged, constantly sabotaged; but we are going in victory, we are sure that we are going to build it, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister stressed.
Venezuela deeply appreciates the contributions that Cuba, its Revolution, has made to all aspects of the economic and social development of my country, starting with the support in health, education, science and technology, which we have enjoyed during these last 25 years, he noted.
For his part, Rodríguez maintained that the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution and the Cuban Revolution are experiencing crucial moments in the midst of a turbulent international and hemispheric situation, as well as the intensification of imperialist policies of domination and hegemony against the peoples of our America.
At the same time, he considered, it is a time of opportunity given the historical accumulation processes that have been taking place in the Great Homeland, in Martí and Bolivarian America.
We feel that this is also a special occasion to express the full support and invariable solidarity of our people, State and Government to the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution, the civil-military union of its people and to the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro, he highlighted.
He appreciated the solidarity that Cuba receives from Venezuela in all aspects, particularly in the face of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.
At the same time, he reiterated his unrestricted support and full willingness to confront together the unjust and unfounded unilateral measures and the economic war against Venezuela and other peoples.
Rodríguez wished Venezuela the greatest success in the upcoming elections, which confirm it as a global paradigm nation in terms of popular participation and electoral processes. (Text and photos: PL)
