Russian scientists create the first gel that completely regenerates bones

Scientists from the Volgograd State Medical University (Russia) were the first in the world to develop a gel that has the ability to regenerate human bones, even if they were seriously damaged by bullets and shrapnel, local media reported this Saturday.

The new drug has regeneration activators that penetrate deep into the injured areas of the bone, allowing the human body to initiate the bone self-healing mechanism.

In experiments carried out with animals, it was observed that the affected areas in their bones were completely restored with their own tissue, recovering their original structure. In addition, it was proven that these bones formed new blood vessels.

According to scientist Dmitri Kompantsev, there are currently no analogues of the gel in other parts of the world. On the other hand, local media point out that it could be used in maxillofacial and dental surgeries, because it enhances osseointegration and the formation of new bone tissue.

It may also be used to treat bone wounds of participants in the Russian special military operation that have been caused by gunshots. (RT) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
