At the meeting, in which members of the solidarity group, officials from the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP) and representatives of ICAP participated, Andira Álvez, a member of the project, pointed out that the objective is to share and provide support to the Cuban people given that the government The American government does not reflect in its policies the true feelings of North American citizens towards the largest of the Antilles.
Gloria La Riva, coordinator of this platform, highlighted that obtaining the medications was possible thanks to the support of doctors, individuals and solidarity organizations that did everything in their power to facilitate the treatment of the children, and the shipment has an approximate value of 60 thousand dollars.
The activist ratified the support of the Cuban people in the struggle of the Cuban people to break the blockade and the intention to continue collaboration with the Island despite the obstacles that the US government imposes on organizations that, like the Hatuey Project, have the objective of helping Cuba.
The MINSAP representatives expressed their gratitude for the contribution to the national health system and assured that the donated medicines will be very useful for the treatment provided in the country to children with cancer, since in the Caribbean nation the health of the people It is a priority for which the revolutionary government allocates considerable resources despite the difficulties imposed.
Fernando González, president of ICAP, recognized the work of this initiative and highlighted the work of its members, who do what is in their power to ensure that these resources reach those children who need them most.
