National Ballet of Cuba calls for a Didactic Program


 

 

Havana, September 26.- The Dance Chair of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC), under the general direction of Viengsay Valdés, today invites students and dancers to a Didactic Program from October 30 to November 3.

The educational action, which includes courses, talks and master classes, is part of the agenda of activities of the XXVIII Alicia Alonso International Ballet Festival of Havana, to be held from October 28 to November 10, according to the BNC Facebook page.

The program provides the opportunity to perfect knowledge with the technique, style and interpretive concepts of the Cuban Ballet School.

Enrollment space is limited and interested parties have the opportunity to send their application until October 15, the date registration closes.

Participants must travel with a tourist visa for up to 30 days and medical insurance authorized in Cuba.

According to the call, accrediting certificates will be delivered and the cost of the program is $360.

This exchange allows you to take ballet classes lasting two hours, for five days, with teachers invited to the Festival and three free tickets to attend the performances of the prestigious dance event.

Prominent personalities of the expression such as Viengsay Valdés, Miguel Cabrera, Víctor Gilí, Esnel Ramos and José Manuel Carreño (Cuba) and Azari Plisetski (Russia) will attend the master classes, talks and conferences as guests.

This is an opportunity to draw on the wisdom of dance icons, who will share their professional experiences in process rich in teaching and learning, adds the BNC text.

The important dance event is prestigious this year with the participation of dancers and choreographers from more than 15 countries. Among these figures, the Mexican Elisa Carrillo stands out, the Spaniards Lucía Lacarra and Joaquín de Luz, the Brazilian Marcelo Gomes, the French Mathilde Froustey, the Portuguese António Casalinho and the Russians Daniil Simkin and Semyon Chundin.

One of the attractions of the contest lies in the season of Swan Lake, a classic that the public appreciates since it has not been danced in Cuba in its entirety since 2018.
