Camagüey Triumphs at the National Radio Festival with Multiple Awards and Recognitions


Camagüey, Oct 1st - Out of more than 600 works submitted at the XXXV National Radio Festival of Cuba, Camagüey was one of the most awarded in specialized and varied programs. The jury, composed of prestigious radio professionals and artists from across the country, decided to award a Mention in the Special Themes category, section Day for the 130th Anniversary of the Fall in Combat of José Martí, to the program "Huellas en el tiempo: The Ismaelillo of José Martí". In the section on the use of heritage in radio production, the program "Radio, my second home"  by Yordany Robles from Radio Nuevitas also received a Mention.
In the category of staged spaces, the Grand Prize Theatre went to"Milanés, culpa y tormento" by Tatiana Álvarez Obrador. In the period novel section, the work "Ramona" by the same producer and director from Camagüey was also awarded. Additionally, in the Musical section, the Grand Prize was awarded to the program "Boleros de mi ciudad" by Marvely Font Roque from Radio Nuevitas. In the category for specific audiences, the Grand Prize went to the report "Vencedoras de Imposibles" by Alicia Sosa Velázquez.

In the children's category, belonging to the adolescents and young people section , the program "Vamos a jugar" by Yurisey Echeverría González received the award. In the section for Productions by the Asociación Hermanos Saíz (AHS), the program "Arte Soy" from Radio Florida was awarded. Likewise, journalist Yurisey received an award in the Informative Spaces category with the space “Vertientes la Noticia.”

Social networks and cyberspace gained great importance in this edition of the Festival, awarding a Special Mention to the mobile application created by Radio Nuevitas, dedicated to the anniversary of that station.

 Other individual awards were also given to artists from the Provincial Radio System: in scriptwriting, Lourdes Margarita Barreiro for “Milanés, culpa y tormento”; in direction, Tatiana Álvarez for the same work; in narration of dramatized pieces, the announcer Karel Amores in the universal novel “Ramona”; in male acting, Javier del Toro in “Milanés, culpa y tormento”; in sound effects, José Raúl Martínez for the same work; and in musicalization, Ana Elvira Ávila for the same work.

 Camagüey boasts a long radio tradition and several awards for its good work. The Nino Moncada Dramatic Group, with a history of years, keeps the name of Radio Cadena Agramonte high, thanks to the talent of its members, all professionals committed to creation.
