Ramallah, October 4 - The Palestinian government today called on the world to take urgent measures to stop the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, which has caused nearly 42,000 deaths in the territory in almost a year.
"We urge humanitarian and human rights authorities and institutions ´´to put an end to the crimes of occupation that continue daily against our people," it stated in a statement.
It recalled that the majority of countries in the world recently supported in the UN General Assembly the advisory opinion of the International Court of Justice, which demands that Israel end the occupation of Palestine within 12 months.
The Palestinian government accused the neighbouring nation of ignoring international resolutions and acting "like a criminal force above the law".
Therefore, it is time to stop the crimes committed by Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet, it emphasized.
The statement noted that Palestine continues its efforts to expose the continued Israeli violations at the international level and to hold that country accountable for its actions.
"Measures to undermine our institutions will not deter us from continuing the struggle to establish a sovereign Palestinian state and to obtain our people's right to freedom and self-determination," it assured. (Text and photo: PL)
