Brazil ‘s Foreign Affairs Minister on job visit to Cuba


Havana, Jan. 24, Brazil ‘s Foreign Affairs Minister, Mauro Vieira, will make a work visit to Cuba on January 24 and 25, official sources disseminated.

The Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry reported on its website that Vieira will hold official talks with his counterpart Bruno Rodríguez and will participate in other activities.

Both nations maintain close bilateral ties, materialized in cooperation in areas such as agriculture and health.

In March 2024, Cuba and Brazil signed a dozen agreements for the exchange of experiences in the management of food production, the local procurement of agroecological seeds and the improvement of commercial management of the Acopio Business Group.

The South American Nation sent the island last November a cargo of humanitarian aid, to support the people affected by hurricanes Rafael and Oscar who caused considerable damage to the provinces of Artemis and Guantanamo.

The solidarity load was composed of 10 tons of dehydrated foods that arrived by air and 30 water purification units.

In several international forums, Brazil has expressed its support for the island in its fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States and for the exclusion of the unilateral list of sponsoring states of terrorism. (Text and photo: PL)
