Fruitful meeting between Cuban Foreign Minister and Prime Minister of Vietnam (+Photos)


Hanoi, February 18.- The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, held a meeting that he described as fruitful with the Vietnamese head of Government, Pham Minh Chinh, shortly after his arrival here today on an official visit.

We agreed on the progress made in economic and commercial ties, investment and cooperation in multiple areas, particularly the production and supply of rice, energy, agriculture and biotechnology, the chancellor wrote on social network X.

Minh Chinh, for his part said the online version of VTV television, highly praised the positive development of the exemplary Vietnam-Cuba relationship and affirmed his desire to continue deepening it and making it more practical and effective.

The Vietnamese prime minister also suggested that both sides increase the exchange of delegations at all levels and closely coordinate the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit to Cuba by General Secretary of the Communist Party (PCV, for its acronym in Spanish) and President To Lam in September 2024.

At the same time, the source said, he urged prioritizing cooperation in food production, renewable energy, biotechnology and healthcare, and coordinating the implementation of the activities of the “Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year” to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The two sides also agreed to effectively implement measures to promote economic, trade and investment relations, and many other areas of cooperation, in accordance with the special political relationship between the two countries, he added.

For its part, the VNA news agency published on its English-language website a photo gallery that includes moments from the meeting between Rodríguez Parrilla and Minh Chinh.

According to the program known by Prensa Latina, tomorrow's day will begin with a tribute to the hero of Vietnamese independence, President Ho Chi Minh, to whom Rodríguez Parrilla and the delegation accompanying him will place a wreath at the mausoleum where his mortal remains rest.

Immediately afterward, official talks will take place with his Vietnamese counterpart, Bui Thanh Son, which will be followed by courtesy interviews with the president of the nation, Luong Cuong, and with the general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV), To Lam.

Finally, Rodríguez Parrilla will hold a meeting with members of the Cuban diplomatic mission here.
