
Artemisa, Feb 27th. - To strengthen the functioning of the Councils of the Municipal Administration (CAM) in Artemisa, Manuel Marrero Cruz, member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, during the government visit to the territory on Wednesday.
Marrero Cruz stressed that the CAM and the Municipal Assembly of People's Power (AMPP) must work together, while they have as their primary responsibility the attention of the people and to seek ways to meet their needs.
Facing the population is not only the responsibility of the highest authorities of a demarcation, but of all the cadres, he said.
He emphasized paying attention to the situation with the housing fund, which was heavily affected by weather events; and to respond in a differentiated way to the approaches of the population.
During the conclusions of the visit he highlighted experiences such as the one applied in the Basic Business Unit (UEB) Alliance of the Poultry Company of Artemisa, which applies a management model that guarantees food and increases productions.
He referred to the advances in the Mango Dulce photovoltaic solar park, which he will synchronize at the end of March, and the rehabilitation of the home of the elderly Fidel Labrador García, in the capital of Artemisa, to resurrect in the aforementioned month.
He put the alternatives for the feeding of workers in the November 30 central, located in San Cristobal; as well as the urgency of recovering the cane plantations, as the lack of raw material prevents the ingenuity from grinding with stability.
He explained the need to attract foreign exchange from the municipalities, which requires more production and exports; and insisted on being more rigorous in confronting tax evasion, unopened or unoperated tax accounts.
Inés María Chapman Waugh, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, referred to population ageing in the province and pregnancy in adolescence, topics that also require priority attention.
In the exchange, problems were called to solve problems with the supply of water, and increase the efficiency of productions to lower prices, especially food.
The deputy prime minister of the Republic and Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, and also deputy prime ministers Eduardo Martínez Díaz and Jorge Luis Tapia Fonseca, as well as other ministers and vice ministers of different portfolios, accompanied the main authorities of the province on the day.
