France ready to compensate frozen aid to Ukraine

Paris, March 5. - The French Prime Minister, François Bayrou, today expressed his willingness in the National Assembly to seek funds to compensate for the impact of the US decision to freeze its aid to Ukraine in the war with Russia.

According to the head of Matignon, France is striving to obtain, together with other European countries, indispensable resources on the battlefield in every possible way, mentioning in particular ammunition and systems for connectivity and intelligence work.

The Prime Minister pointed out to the deputies during a question and answer session in the hemicycle that Washington ordered the detention of “entire loaded trains bound for Ukraine.”

The day before, President Donald Trump froze support for Ukraine as an instrument of pressure so that his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, accepts his conditions for ending the conflict, which the White House is addressing directly with Moscow, and signs an agreement for access by American companies to Ukrainian rare lands.

Also today, Bayrou participated in a debate with senators about the ongoing war in Eastern Europe, a meeting in which he accused Trump of abandoning Kyiv.

We cannot be confused by words, suspending aid to an attacked country is abandoning it so that its adversary wins, he said.

According to the prime minister, Europe is living the moment of truth, in which he called for avoiding despair.

The Europeans, led by French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, are fighting with Washington, insisting on maintaining their support for Kyiv and their anti-Russian stance. (PL) (Photo: Taken from the Internet)
