Conference of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution is being prepared

Havana, March 8. - With the purpose of keeping high the revolutionary spirit and national unity, the VI Conference of the Association of Combatants of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC, for its acronym in Spanish) will be held in this capital, its directive reported.

The meeting, scheduled for March 14 and 15 at the Universal Hall of the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR, for its acronym in Spanish), will call on state agencies to reinforce, together with the ACRC, the patriotic-military and internationalist education of the new generations, said the national president of that organization, Major General José Antonio Carrillo.

The conclave will also seek the support of universities to encourage research on the military history of the nation, and will propose strategies to increase its membership and skills in the use of new technologies, said the senior official.

In an appearance on the Mesa Redonda news program, Carrillo stated that nearly 200 delegates and guests will appoint the new board of directors of the organization and approve the work strategy for the next five years.

The VI conference will emphasize the formation of patriotic and revolutionary values ??at an early age, said the Hero of the Republic of Cuba and first cosmonaut of Latin America and the Caribbean, Brigadier General Arnaldo Tamayo, in the news program.

Tamayo, who also led that group, highlighted the positive impact of the conversations between combat veterans and student groups in all provinces.

According to the organizers of the VI ACRC Conference, work is planned in three commissions that will also discuss the organic functioning and comprehensive care for its members. (Text and photo: PL)
